The SoftwareShield COM-Activator is a DLL (SSCGen.dll). that comes with SoftwareShield. The DLL exposes an interface that can be created and accessed in any environment that supports COM. Use the COM-Activator component from environments like Visual Basic, MSVisual C++, MS.NET, Borland Delphi, Borland C++ Builder, and many others, including script languages like VBScript and Jscript.

Your developers may use the COM-Activator to build your own User Interface for generating Activation Codes. This allows you to seamless integrate activation functionality into any of your in-house applications that your support staff requires. This reduces the amount of time you may need to invest on training the staff to use yet another tool-set.

You accomplish this by linking to the COM component DLL (SSCGen.dll) and calling functions on its exposed interface. Note that generating Activation Codes within SoftwareShield can more easily be accomplished using the SoftwareShield Manual-Activator or the SoftwareShield CheckPoint License Server. However, the COM-Activator is the best way to programmatically generate Activation Codes.
