• I want to license (or copy protect) common document formats (such as MS Word, Excel Spreadsheets, HTML documents, Power Point etc.) Can I do this with SoftwareShield?

  With IronWrap it is very easy to protect any type of document files, whether they are packaged with your application, or as a stand-alone document. The only exception is if you wish to distribute the document files as a stand-alone document, you must have the right to legally re-distribute a viewer. This viewer will be IronWrapped with the document and distributed as a package.

• I am considering buying the SoftwareShield System, but what if my PC dies and needs to be replaced, can I get a new Activation Code since SoftwareShield is locked to a single CPU?

  Yes. If it is a legitimate transfer - you will get a new code. You will be asked to initiate a license deactivation on the first machine (if possible). You must provide us with the deactivation confirmation code. If you are unable to provide a deactivation confirmation code because the PC is no longer operating at all, we do however, need a sound and legitimate explanation and we reserve the right to refuse to reissue activation codes numerous times to a customer in order to protect ourselves from fraud.

• My SoftwareShield license file has somehow become corrupted. How do I fix this?

  This can be caused by a variety of reasons. The most frequent cause is tampering with SoftwareShield license files. If you are not yet a client, or you have not yet received your permanent Activation Code, all you need to do is click OK to "recover your software now", then send the Authorization Request Code that appears to our support department and we will send you back a "Recovery Code".

  If you are already a client and you have received your permanent Activation Code, you can simply use this dual purpose code to recover your license.
