CheckPoint™ Web-Service Interface

The SoftwareShield CheckPoint License Server exposes two interfaces - one of them is a web-service that delivers a variety of functionality and can be (is) called from:

  1. The SoftwareShield License Manager.  In this way, you are able to remotely administer the CheckPoint License Server from your desktop using the License Manager as well as add, edit and delete information about licenses including pre-generated Serial Numbers.

  2. The ClientProtector (redistributed run-time component).  The ClientProtector you deploy with your licensed application can be configured to activate your software by Serial Number automatically by interfacing with the web-service interface of the CheckPoint License Server.

  3. The Manual-Activator.   The Manual-Activator can interface with the web-service interface of the CheckPoint License Server to allow your staff to manage "phone-in" or "mail-in" activations from Serial Numbers.

  4. Arbitrary callers of your design.  Future version of the SoftwareShield System will provide a rich interface to the CheckPoint License Server that you can invoke from virtually any environment and platform.

More Information

If you are instead interested in invoking the CheckPoint Server from a simple HTTP GET call, see: CheckPoint HTTP GET Interface.
