When this FingerPrint option flag is set, the operating system on the host machine is queried for its platform. This value is stored in software, but typically cannot be changed unless the user changes their major operating system version.

Typical Internal Values

There are five possible values:

• "Win 32s under Windows 3.1"

• "Windows 95"

• "Windows 98" (also corresponds to ME)

• "Windows NT" (also corresponds to 2000 and XP)

• "Uknown"

This flag will be able to successfully query the OS for its platform on all versions of Windows. No special user permissions are required.
