Definition Dialog
Authorization Definition Dialog
The Authorization Definition Dialog is where you will set the properties of each of the Authorization Definitions your license file uses.
You can get to the Authorization Definition Dialog in the License File Manager by opening a license project, selecting the Authorization Definition Tab, and clicking on "Add" or selecting an existing code and clicking on "Edit".
The dialog looks like this:
The caption of the dialog always displays the Authorization Definition ID you are currently editing. The various fields and settings in the dialog are described in more detail in the following sections:
When defining an Authorization Definition, you should Set an Authorization Description.
There are 11 types of Authorization Definitions. You must use the type combo-box to Set an Authorization Definition Type for every definition.
For some definitions you have the option defining a shelf-life. See Setting An Authorization Definitions Shelf-Life for more details.
For Deactivation Definitions, you can also set a single Pre-Condition. See: Setting An Authorization Definitions Pre-Condition.
Some definitions you have the option making the code single-use. See Setting An Authorization Definition As Single-Use.
You can also Pre-Activate your definitions if you need by Pre-Activating Authorization Definitions.
For General Use Definitions, you have the option of sending a parameter (at activation time) which your application can interpret any way you wish. If you choose to do so, you must enter a description for this parameter. See Setting Authorization Parameter Descriptions. Also, if you choose you can pre-set this parameter value. See: Setting Authorization Parameter Values.
For Design-Time Composite Authorization Definitions you must define the payload for the definition. See: Creating Composite Definitions.
Although generally not necessary, you may set a Serial Number for your Authorization Definition. See: Setting An Authorization Definitions Serial Number
You must also enter a Local Password for every Authorization Definition. See: Setting An Authorization Definitions Password.
