Creating Composite Definitions

When defining a Design Time Composite Authorization Definition, you must define a Payload.  You do so using the Design-Time Composite Payload Definition Dialog.

When you select the Design-Time Type in the Authorization Definition Dialog, the following controls become enabled:

Simply click on the "Define..." button to invoke the  Design-Time Composite Payload Definition Dialog.  This dialog looks like this:

The dialog will be loaded only with candidate "Leaf" Authorization Definitions which can be included as part of the payload.  You choose them to be included in the payload by selecting their check-box  as shown:

If a definition that you select requires a parameter, you will be presented with the Composite Payload Parameter Dialog as shown:

Numeric Type

-OR-

Date Type

The Leaf Definitions type will dictate how the dialog will appear.  If the leaf definition requires a numeric parameter, the numeric controls will appear.  If the leaf definition requires a date type parameter, date controls will appear.    Both types have two options:

  1. You can choose to hard-code a parameter value which will be used at run-time, or

  2. You can choose to use the value found in a user defined field at run-time for the parameter value.  When using a user defined field, the control will change to allow the selection of a user defined field number as in the following two images:
