With A License Project > Virgin Registry Data Tab
Virgin Registry Data TabThe Virgin Registry Data Tab is the tab on the License Project Properties dialog where you define if your license will use Virgin Registry Data and if so exactly where in the registry it will be placed and what the values will be. To get to it, open a license project file in the SoftwareShield License Manager and click on "Virgin Registry Data". The tab looks like this:
Note that using Virgin Registry Data is optional, however if you choose to use it, you must also have at least one Alias File (of any kind) in the license. You can choose any of four main registry hives in which to locate any Virgin Registry Data. As well, you can locate the virgin key virtually anywhere you like in those hives. Choose a location that is both difficult to find and you are sure will not conflict with any other key. You can use the random generation buttons to create random key names and values which are guaranteed not to conflict (using the buttons with the dice on them) Or, you can create your own names and values.
