Connecting to your
CheckPoint™ Server
Before you can do a Serial Number code exchange using the Manual-Activator,
you must connect to the CheckPoint License Server:
Make sure the "CheckPoint™" button at
the top of the Manual-Activator is selected.

Drop down the URL combo-box near the top of the Manual-Activator
to select the SOAP web-service interface URL of the CheckPoint License
Server you wish to connect to. If the URL is not
already in the list, you can enter it manually and it will be saved for
the next time you start the Manual-Activator. (You
can also access these URLs from in the Options
settings of the Manual-Activator).

Note that no matter where your CheckPoint License Server is deployed,
the last portion of this URL will end with
"checkpoint.dll/soap/ICheckPointService".
E.G.: "http://www.yourserver.com/progs/checkpoint.dll/soap/ICheckPointService"
One the correct URL is selected, click "Connect...".
If the CheckPoint server can be contacted and appears
to be configured correctly, you will be prompted to Log-In.
Enter the user name and password of a valid
CheckPoint administrator. You may choose to remember these log-in details
on your machine for next time.
Once the log-in call has completed, your connection
status and database configuration status will appear in the dialog as
described in Interpreting Connection and
Database Status. If there are any problems
with the connection or the database configuration, you will be prompted
what to do.
