Inputting Customer Serial Numbers

Inputting customers Serial Numbers into the SoftwareShield Manual-Activator is easy. Once you have connected to the CheckPoint server successfully, simply copy and paste or type in the users provided Serial Number.

Sometimes it is helpful to know the exact format of the Serial Number if the user has made a mistake in transcribing it.

Format Of Serial Numbers

  • All Serial Numbers are exactly 19 characters long, made up of 4 groups of 4 characters separated by 3 dashes.
  • All Serial Numbers use only the characters: ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRTUVWXY1234567890 (Note that "I", "O", "S" and "Z" are omitted because of their possible confusion with "1", "0", "5" and "2").
  • All Serial Numbers  are case insensitive.

Once you have the customers Serial Number, simply paste it into the "User Serial Number" edit box. If the Serial Number is the correct format and its checksum is valid, you will see the displayed message to the right of the Serial Number edit box display a valid message as in the following image:

If you or the customer must communicate Serial Numbers, Authorization Request Codes or Activation Codes  over the telephone, it is a good idea to use the phonetic alphabet to avoid errors.
