What is Steganographic Licensing?Steganography is, by definition, the hiding of communication. Most software licensing systems use redundant concealed information to resist attempts to tamper with the main license file. SoftwareShield (optionally) uses steganographic licensing technology to conceal license information inside image files. The nature of this concealment is very hard to detect and extremely resistant to attack. SoftwareShield is the only system that gives you the power of using steganographic licensing in your applications. To illustrate how effective the SoftwareShield steganographic licensing algorithm is at hiding license data, we have embedded two paragraphs of text (about 150 words) inside the following logo. The images on the left are the sample original logo (92 x 64 pixels) pictured on the right is the same logo with two entire paragraphs of text steganographically embedded inside it - can you see the difference? We have enlarged both images 3 x times for your inspection. To maximize its effectiveness the SoftwareShield steganographic embedding algorithm detects the edges of objects inside your image and hides the data there. The edges of the objects in the image are the places where the human eye is least likely to see any difference. Look for minute differences in the edges of the logos below - you will see it is almost impossible to see any difference at all!
