SoftwareShield System Feature Guide > Manually Generate Activation Codes > Override Shelf-Life

Override Shelf-Life

When you are using the Manual-Activator to generate Activation Codes off-line, you have the option to override the Shelf-Life corresponding to the Authorization Definition for which you are generating an Activation Code.

Note that when using the Manual-Activator to perform a CheckPoint Serial Number Code exchange, overriding the shelf-life is not available.

This gives you the option when generating Activation Codes using the Manual-Activator, to make the decision to change the period of time which an Activation Code may remain valid. You may choose to lengthen, shorten or completely eliminate the Shelf-Life of the Activation Code you generate.

Note that you can override an Authorization Definition Shelf-Life only with the Manual-Activator. The Web-Activator can not override a Shelf-Life.
